Last fall when my friend Laura Collins of
Pansy Maiden asked me to do a photo shoot with her handmade bags, I immediately said yes. Laura's bags are not only handmade, they are also cruelty-free meaning she only works with materials that do not come from animals (no leather, wool, or silk). The materials she does use are organic and abide by Fair Trade regulations (you can read all about it
here). Not to mention they are also just really cool, durable, and good-looking!

For our shoot, we went deep into the woods of the Arnold Arboretum. With the sun out and the temps a cool 80, the shooting conditions were ideal. Our models, Stephanie and Melody, were patient as well as gorgeous, and Laura made a good assistant too!

In addition to using the photos for her website, Laura put together a "
look book" which really blew me away. She also commissioned local illustrator Elise of
Argyle Whale to create some adorable woodland creature illustrations to add to a few of the photos, so cute!
I love what we created during this shoot, thanks to Laura and of course her awesome crew!
