The cousins lives in a region called the Vallée de Joux in the Swiss Canton of Vaud (where many watches companies are based!). It, like most of Switzerland, is very beautiful so we spent a lot of time touring the countryside and visiting different towns-
Le Sentier
Gruyères
Seth and I on top of the world- a glacier in Gstaad (around 10k ft!).
Homemade fondue, the national dish of Swizterland. Drool.
When the family portion of the trip ended, Seth and I went to Geneva by train then rented a car and stayed in Interlaken and Lucerne before flying out of Zurich. Not enough time to see it all but we saw a lot! And we already can't wait to go back.
Jet d'Eau in Geneva
Harder Klum overlooking Interlaken
Me (terrified) hovering over Interlaken
Interlaken
Lucerne
Lucerne, again. So stunning.
We had such an amazing trip. Reconnecting with family (and meeting cousins for the first time!), eating fresh and flavorful foods, seeing breathtaking sights- it was definitely one of the best trips I've ever taken. We came home refreshed, inspired, and ready to go back, hopefully in the next few years. I highly recommend this tiny little part of the world!
Have you been on any trips lately? I'd love to hear about them in the comments below!
